The Internet is now much more than a place for companies to advertise themselves, it's now a place where you can offer your products, rent out accommodation, take bookings and sell your company's services. Trembirth Design offers bespoke application development and website add-ins to add a little extra to your marketing site
We are also developing a number of applications that offer more advanced features and run solely on the Internet, see the panel on the right.
What can be done?
Web applications now allow website visitors to do virtually anything. Shopping online has been available for a long time but the past few years have seen such things as price comparison websites, hotel and flight booking and online banking. To date, Trembirth Design have been involved with a number of companies offering online services including:
Dance Music DJs: allow site visitors to check availability and book a DJ for an event such as a wedding or birthday party.
Canterbury Country Houses: book to stay in one of three holiday cottages.
Florida Dream Holidays: check the availability of their Orlando villa and make a booking.
New Generation Ski School: customers can book a place on a skiing or snowboarding course and also book private lessons. Admin staff can setup new courses, check instructor availability and view a number of reporting options.
Tile Magic: run a number of online systems for use by their stores. Inter-store memos are now sent through their website as well as weekly sales reports for each store.
The last two websites show that web applications don't just have to work between company and customer, companies can use the Internet to help automate their business using a Intranet or Extranet based on a private Internet site. Contact Us for more details.
Web applications - The advantages
The main advantage of a web application is it's availability. There are no opening hours (or, perhaps more importantly, no closing hours - Christmas Day 2007 saw £84 million spent online in the UK alone) as your website is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Being based on the Internet, you can access the administrative side of your site from anywhere - work, home your holiday hotel. All applications are secure with password protection to make sure that only the required people have access to sensitive data.
Pricing
Pricing depends on what you want your web application to do. A simple booking system for a holiday company for example can cost around £200 but it's only after talking with you and finding out your requirements that we can give you a full quotation. Contact Us for more information.
