If your information isn't up-to-date and updated regularly, you're wasting the most important opportunity that the Internet provides. You homepage should be updated with the latest news about your company at least once a month, once a week would be better. A regularly updated website is also more noticed by search engines than one that remains static.

Usability:

If your visitors can't find the information they want, then they'll look elsewhere - maybe one of your competitors? Make the information available and easy to find.

Design:

You don't have to have advanced animations, videos and other high-end (and expensive) features on your website but the design of your site is important if you want to keep people interested. In most modern websites, clean and simple is the key.
